Late afternoon touches these tree trunks near Wallace Hut with a wonderful earthy pink glow. I never cease to be amazed at the varying moods that can occur in a single landscape. A change in light conditions can flood a location with hitherto undreamt of possibilities, and different seasons reveal new glories. It is a reminder that photography is more than just travelling to a place once and ticking it off. Wallace Hut is one of my favourite spots in the Victorian high country, a proud relic from the days of Australias legendary roving cattlemen. Returning there not only deepens my relationship with the place, but also (as in this photograph) reveals details never experienced before.
